Leaving Edinburgh we head south along the stunning coast of Northumberland passing the famous Bass rock with it’s thousands of gannets, and visiting the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, past the great castles of Northumbria and into the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Whitby, our end point, is one of the great fishing ports of the East Coast steeped in maritime history and herring!
