Week 1, 27th June – 4th July 2025, Stornoway – Mallaig, £895
Week 2, 4th – 10th July, Mallaig – Mallaig
The Hebrides offers some of the most magnificent wilderness in Europe, secluded, beautiful anchorages, and some wonderful sailing. Join us for an ocean adventure and to put our expedition yacht Merlin through her paces! A voyage for all those with adventurous spirit!

Week one will begin in the port of Stornoway, an important hub for the Outer Hebrides. From there we will raise sails for some of Scotland’s most beautiful wild places, the remote sea lochs of Harris and Lewis and the towering cliffs of the Shiant Isles lie en-route, home to vast numbers of seabirds. Further south lie the many islands of the southern Outer Hebrides and the magnificent Isle of Skye. We will plan our route according to the weather, as many seafarers before us have done.
This week will be an excellent opportunity to get hands-on with the sailing, and learn more about passage planning and navigation. The days at sea might be longer than most in our programme, but each evening we will stop in a wild anchorage for a hearty dinner and a good night’s rest.
Week two will start and end in Mallaig, giving us the opportunity to explore the inner Hebridean islands, the Small Isles, Skye and the wonderful sea lochs of the mainland.
Both are an open programme, and we will tailor what we do and where we go to the interests of the crew, but as with all Sail Britain’s trips, in addition to sailing, we will have an opportunity to learn more about the ocean, it’s ecosystems and the the amazing wildlife which calls it home. And working as a team to sail the boat together is one of the best parts of seafaring, and many of our participants come home with new friends!
